Position Overview

The purpose of this role is to Lead the design and analysis of structural components in high-voltage and medium voltage substations.

Job Responsibilities
  • Substation Structural Design: Lead the design and analysis of structural components in high-voltage and medium voltage substations, including foundations, support structures, bus structures, and control buildings.
  • Code Compliance: Ensure all designs adhere to national and international building codes, electrical industry standards, and safety regulations relevant to high-voltage substations.
  • Engineering Calculations: Perform detailed engineering calculations, such as load analysis, seismic analysis, wind loading, and foundation design, to ensure the structural integrity of substation components.
  • Design Optimization: Continuously seek opportunities to optimize substation designs, considering cost-effectiveness, constructability, and long-term performance.
  • Project Management: Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate projects, ensuring timely delivery, and providing technical support during construction and commissioning phases.
  • Technical Support: Offer technical expertise and guidance to internal teams and external stakeholders on structural matters related to high-voltage substations.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in structural engineering, with a focus on high-voltage substations.
  • Proficient in structural analysis software, such as ETABS, L-Pile, STAAD.Pro, SAP2000, etc.
  • Solid understanding of national and international building codes and industry standards related to substations (e.g., IEEE, IEC, ASCE, NESC).
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Excellent communication skills to convey technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Proven project management skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
